Bonnie Higbie
Bonnie was originally from Hamilton, NY, and served as promotions director for WONN and WPCV in 1987 and 1988. Her job included hosting on-air public service programs, editing the stations’ newsletters and representing both at community functions.
During her career, she was promotions director for the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority, managing publisher of “Lakeland Real Estate Week” for the Lakeland Association of Realtors and, for 20 years, served as media director for the International Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In, the second-largest aviation convention and air show in the United States. She was also an information specialist with the Florida Department of Transportation.
Bonnie passed away December 22, 2009 of heart failure at the age of 69.
