Terry Lombardi
Terry was born in Polk County and grew up in the Auburndale area. His first radio job was in 1987 doing mornings at Bartow’s easy listening WBAR AM-1460. In 1991, he moved to Winter Haven’s AM-1360 WHNR and held down a long 11am to 5pm shift. Later on, however, he was promoted to production director.
In 1995, WHNR’s entire staff was let go when the owner shut the station down and it went silent. Three years later, he applied for an on-air position at Hall Communications’ WPCV in Lakeland and landed a part-time gig on Sunday afternoons. He went on to do news for the company’s four-station cluster (WONN, WLKF, WPCV, and WWRZ), and also became a co-host on WLKF’s morning show “Mayhem in the A.M.”
Terry eventually left radio and, after a stint with Tampa-based Sykes Enterprises at its Lakeland call center, today (2011) works in real estate with his brother in Auburndale.
