Vic Swan

Vic, the self-described vagabond, artist, cartoonist, spoken-word poet, photographer, and deejay began his radio career at Lakeland’s WONN while still in high school. After graduating in 1966, he went on to Tallahassee Community College and Florida State University, earning a BFA and MFA in Studio Arts in 1978.

He worked at seven radio stations during the years he lived in Tallahassee, including AM’s WTNT, WTAL, and WONS (where he teamed with PD Jim Jacobs to co-host the morning show in the mid 70’s), and FM’s Gulf 104 and FM-99. He was also with Milwaukee’s WMGF and Columbus, Georgia’s WGSY but, most recently, had been doing weekends at Tampa Bay’s WQYK.

Vic passed away from a stroke on August 7, 2010 in Denver, Colorado. He was 64.
