WXPQ - A History

WXPQ-AM 1530 Babson Park – Webber College (now Webber International University) in Babson Park in southeast Polk County flipped the call letters of its campus radio station WCZE to WXPQ in 1990. The 500-watt daytimer broadcasted a diversified format from studios and tower site on the college campus, overlooking Crooked Lake on North Scenic Highway.

William M. Histed acquired WXPQ in 1992. About a year later, the station went silent and the FCC deleted its license.
