Pat Brooks

Pat graduated with a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts/English from the University of South Florida and began her career in television in 1971 at WEDU Channel 3 in Tampa where she was a producer-host for seven years. She later moved to radio and became a talk host and news reporter/anchor at Pinellas Park’s WPLP-AM 570.

After a brief stint as writer/editor at Eckerd College, Pat returned to radio in 1980 at Q105 WRBQ and did the news for the legendary “Q Morning Zoo,” the morning show that revolutionized morning drive radio across the country. She moved to WMTX Mix 96 in 1990 to work with Q105 alumnus Mason Dixon and again, a few years later, rejoined him at oldies U92 WYUU-FM 92.5.

Known as Tampa Bay’s “First Lady of Radio News,” Pat left the medium in 2002 to form her own company, Targa 7, Inc., and today (2007) can be heard in TV and radio commercials for stations coast to coast. A veteran magazine feature writer and on-camera talent, Pat continues to live in the Tampa Bay area and resides in Safety Harbor.
