Scott Chase

Scott has been a programmer, announcer, and personality with experience in TV broadcasting, sports announcing, public speaking, public address announcing, narration, and of course commercial production. A graduate of Northern Lehigh High School in Slatington, PA, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Clarion University of Pennsylvania (1982–1986) where he received extensive training in all aspects of radio and TV announcing.

His work in Tampa Bay began on top 40 Z106 WSRZ/Sarasota in 1986. Being that it was his first full-time radio job, he started on overnights, then nights, music director, production director, and finally program director. When Tampa’s 93.3 The Power Pig WFLZ came to town, Z106 was forced out of the top 40 format so he figured if you can’t beat em, join em, and that’s exactly what he did. He became weekender Stretch Marx on The Pig from 1989-1993 with the exception of a period between 1991 and 1992.

When he left Tampa Bay in 1993, Scott joined Ardman Broadcasting’s rhythmic top 40 WOVV in West Palm Beach as music director and night talent. Six years later, in 1999, he was back in Tampa-St. Pete as PD for Clear Channel’s adult top 40 Star 95.7 WSSR. It was during this time that Billboard Magazine named him Operations/Program Director of the Year in 2000.

In addition to Tampa Bay, the voiceover specialist has held program director positions for other stations, including Gem Broadcasting’s 107.1 A1A WAOA in the Melbourne/Cocoa Beach area, WRQQ/Nashville, and WZOK-FM/Rockford, IL.
