Ken Martin

Ken has been a radio professional since high school and got his passion for the business when his aunt and uncle took him to a local station. His break in radio came through his school’s Earth and Space science teacher who was also a part-time jock at a local station.

After graduating from technical school with an Associate’s Degree in Specialized Electronics, the Mechanicsburg, PA native worked at several stations in Northern Virginia. In 1986, he was hired at Power 105 WAVA in Washington, DC (his first full-time job) and promoted two years later to off-air production director.

From there he moved to Los Angeles and, in 1990, Tampa Bay where he was production director for several stations - Q105 WRBQ (1990-92), Mix 96 WMTX (1994-97; also assistant PD), and Star 95.7 WSSR (1997-2000; also acting PD). After a short stint as PD at a station in Honolulu, he returned to Tampa to pull a midday air shift on Mix 100.7 WMTX (2002-2005).

Today (2017), Ken is heard in afternoon drive at Magic 103.1 WTOJ in Watertown, NY. He also works with Premiere Networks converting classic mono editions of Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 to stereo.
