Bill Jacobs, known as Billy Jay on the radio, was born and raised in St. Petersburg, and graduated from the Elkins School of Broadcasting in Dallas. He was an announcer and deejay in Tampa Bay at WPKM, WLCY and WFSO in the 1960’s and 70’s and, later, stations in West Palm Beach and Key West. 

After some health problems, Bill left the radio business and passed away April 1st, 2017 from kidney failure. He was 69.
