Terry Wood

Terry’s first radio gig was with Orlando’s WHOO AM-990 from 1960 to 1962 while still attending high school. In the last semester of his senior year, he was doing 6PM to midnight Sunday through Friday. In 1961, management promoted him to production director.

In 1962, the Boone High School graduate crossed the street to do afternoons at WLOF, then moved to WFLA in Tampa as production director and 10-12N jock the following year. After that, he moved to Chicago, worked 13 years as PD for Group One Broadcasting in Akron and Dayton, Ohio, moved to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and finally Memphis and Detroit as a GM for Viacom.

When CBS sold its properties in Memphis, Terry returned there and retired.
