Cadillac Jack

Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. promoted veteran country radio personality Cadillac Jack (Tom Kapsalis) to assistant program director and afternoon drive host for Tampa Bay’s WQYK-FM in late 2014, replacing Steve Austin, who was let go after 16 years with the station. Jack’s first day on the job was Monday, January 5, 2015. His stay lasted into the latter part of 2018.

He began his career as a deejay at a small radio station in Wilmington, Illinois after graduating from the Midwestern Broadcasting School. Eight years later he got his big break with Chicago’s Top 40 WBUS. His career with Beasley began in 1999 when he joined WXTU-FM in Philadelphia as APD, MD and afternoon host before moving to a Beasley sister station in Las Vegas in 2006.

In 2014, after nine years hosting Westwood One's "Stars of Country," which aired on more than 75 radio stations nationwide, Jack was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame and honored as the year's "Music Director of the Year" for Country Aircheck. He was also a finalist for the Country Music Association’s "Personality of the Year” award in 2001 and nominated for the Academy of Country Music’s "Air Personality of the Year" in 2002.
