Charlie Logan
Charlie attended State University of New York in Brockport where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast Communications. He made his Tampa Bay debut in 1981 at WYNF (95YNF), first as assistant program director – then program director – and music director. During his 11 years there, he was named Billboard magazine’s “Music Director of the Year” for 1988, 1989, and 1991. In 1990 he was a nominee and finalist.
In 1992 Charlie bolted to Chicago and put in stints at WLUP-FM (97.9 The Loop), WWBZ-FM (103.5 The Blaze), and WRCX-FM. Upon returning to Tampa Bay in 1994, he began what would turn out to be a year doing morning drive at 98 Rock WXTB. About the same time, he began Ruffsounds Web Design, a radio show prep site and web design firm. Then came a move to Jacksonville in 1997 where he put in almost three years in mid-days with WFYV (Rock 105).
Charlie was named Senior Director of Rock Programming for the soon-to-begin XM Satellite Radio service in 2000. In this position, he oversaw the formats of 15 music channels as well as the purchasing of all XM music.
Today (2007) Charlie is back on terrestrial radio and works for Beasley Broadcasting’s classic rock 96.3 KKLZ in Las Vegas.
