John St. John

John St. John actually started his radio career at the young age of eight, broadcasting to his neighborhood friends from his bedroom on a low-powered Radio Shack transmitter. Not exactly the big time but everybody has to start somewhere.

In 1976 and 1977, John worked mid-days for WQYK and later moved to sister station WQIK/Jacksonville. He’s also been with WNAP/Indianapolis, KFKF/Kansas City, WZZK/Birmingham (PD), and was with KYGO/Denver (PD) for almost 20 years. He’s worked with Jefferson-Pilot’s Denver cluster in various programming, operations and on-air roles – including programming Smooth Jazz KJCD. In 2002, he joined the Jones Radio Networks as country formats coordinator and operations manager for the company’s 24/7 CD Country format, and did sales for Jones Music Programming Services.

Today (2008) the veteran programmer still works out of Denver as the regional manager for Waitt Radio Networks.
