Michael is from High Springs, FL and got into radio in 1989 at the age of 16. After graduating from high school, he majored in Mass Communication at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville. Shark (as he is called) joined Cox Radio in Tampa Bay in December 2000 and, for 13 years, was the program director of alternative 97X WSUN-FM. In the spring of 2010, he also took on the programming chores for sister station 102-5 The Bone WHPT.
The 25-year radio veteran announced his resignation and 90-day notice in mid-January 2014, saying he planned to leave radio at the end of March to make an investment in time with his family.
Prior to joining Cox, he was assistant program director and music director for Mix 94.1 KMXB-FM in Las Vegas and, before that, had put in time with Orlando FM’s WSHE (APD) and WJRR (nights, 1993-95). His first PD gig was with a station in Ft. Myers.
