Mike Lyons
Mike moved to Orlando from Kittery, Maine at a young age. After graduating from Edgewater High School in 1970, he began publishing The Watcher, the city's first underground newspaper, and promoted the first rock concert ever held at the Citrus Bowl.
Lyons was an announcer and music director for Tampa Bay’s 98 Rock (1977) and Orlando’s WORJ, WDIZ, and WHTQ. His last eight years in radio were as assistant PD and morning man for Miami’s Zeta 4 WZTA.
In the mid 90's, he entered the record business. From 1995-2000, he was vice-president of AAA Promotions at Lee Arnold Marketing and, in 2001, became a contributing editor and columnist at TripleARadio.com.
Mike passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2009 at the age of 57.
