Jack Kane

Jack (Carl Wigley) worked for Tampa’s WALT before joining Rahall’s WLCY as newsman and jock D.J. O’Day in 1960. A few years later, he changed his name to Jack Kane and moved to mornings. After leaving in late 1966, he made a brief stop in Winston Salem before heading on to Norfolk’s WNOR and then KGA in Spokane.

Kane’s lengthy career, which perhaps had him better known as Jackson Kane, included time spent at WFUN in Miami and stations in Memphis, Dayton, Louisville, New York, San Francisco, Denver, St. Louis, and Buffalo. He was news director in Oklahoma City for KTOK from 1981 until the mid 90’s and produced a syndicated commentary called "Kane's World" for a number of years.

The Marine Corps and Korean War vet retired in 2002 and passed away from cancer on October 27, 2004.
