Duane Cornett
When Marshall Rowland acquired Tampa Bay’s AM-1110 WALT and 99.5 WTCX-FM in the early 70’s, Duane was brought in as chief engineer to oversee the technical upgrading of the two stations that would soon become WQYK AM and FM.
The Florida native worked with the combo until they were sold – the AM in 1976 and the FM in 1977. He passed away in his hometown of Jacksonville in 1994 at the age of 71.
