Angelito Rodriguez
Angelito was born in New York and at an early age moved with his family to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Having family and close friends in the music industry motivated him to take an interest in radio, which led to visits to radio stations in the area and, eventually jobs with Radio Heavy 95X, WORA Radio/TV, and Radio Voz, the pioneer of salsa in Puerto Rico.
Since 1990 when he moved to Tampa, he’s worked with the top Spanish stations in the bay area, AM-1550 WAMA, Radio Mundo WRMD, and Super Q 1300 WQBN.
Today (2013), Angelito is WQBN’s program director and hosts the program “Los Cuarto Bates de La Salsa,” on Saturdays.
