Andy Meyer
His father worked as a deejay, talk show host and broadcast engineer, so Andy grew up in and around radio. In 1987, at the age of 15, he felt compelled to flip platters rather than flip burgers and went after his first gig at Winter Haven’s WSIR. Two years later, he moved across town to Cypress Gardens’ WYXY and stayed there until the end of 1989 when he left to do nights at WWBF in Bartow.
At the end of 1990, his radio career moved from Polk County to Raleigh, North Carolina. Fifteen years later, he returned to the Sunshine State and assumed the afternoon shift (and eventually the PD’s position) at Cox’s Jacksonville classic hits station, 96.9 The Eagle WJGL (2005-2010).
Today (2012), Andy is the Director of Brand Development for Christian A/C 104.9 The River WCVO in Gahanna, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus.
