Bob McKay
Bob attended Kent State University in 1963-64 before kicking off his radio career with Armed Forces Radio in 1965. From there, he went on to become the evening air personality at WKY in Oklahoma City and hold positions at Cleveland’s WIXZ and Tampa Bay’s WDAE (circa 1973).
In 1975, he landed his first programming job as assistant PD and morning air personality with KRKE in Albuquerque. He also made stops in Wichita (KQEO and KLEO), Milwaukee (WBCS PD in 1978), San Diego (KCBQ PD in 1980), Miami/Ft. Lauderdale (WKIS PD in 1984), and Philadelphia (WXTU PD 2000-2009).
After 44 years as an air talent and program director, Bob was inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009, the same year he launched Bob McKay Media, his radio consulting and PPM company.
