WIQI - A History

WIQI-FM 100.7 Tampa – Gannett’s beautiful music JoY 101 WJYW became adult contemporary W101 WIQI in 1982. The 100-kilowatt station’s studios were located in downtown Tampa at 101 N. Tampa Street.

In 1985, Gannett changed the call letters to WUSA.

Strubbe (GM-1983; sales manager-1984), Jay Cook (GM-1984), Bob DeCarlo (operations-1984), Chris Miller (music director-1984; PD-1985), Judd Otis (news director-1984), Dick Lucas (chief engineer-1984), Anne Clarke (1984), Kris Boyd (promotions-1985), Kelly Dobbs (news director-1985), Jim Mulla (GM-1986), and Don Schaeffer (afternoons),
