Bob Mackey
Bob worked in West Palm Beach at WEAT and WIRK in the late 50’s before becoming news director at Tampa’s WALT around 1960.
In 1962, he joined WDAE and served in a like position until 1968 when he returned to WALT, which had switched from Top 40 to an MOR format. For the next (almost) two years, he and veteran bay area broadcaster Bob Stone teamed up to cover the station’s hourly news broadcasts and co-anchor the “Mackey-Stone Report” at 8 A.M., 12N, and 5 P.M.
Bob passed away December 11, 2014 at the age of 86.
