Chip Collins

Chip was a graduate of Clearwater High School and received his BA from the University of Florida. He spent over 20 years in the local news business and, in 1960, was news director at WLCY. Most of his career was spent with local CBS affiliate WTVT Channel 13, serving there as a reporter, news anchor (1965-1966), Pinellas County bureau chief, and assignment editor.

After leaving Channel 13, he had careers in real estate, as a church administrator at Heritage United Methodist Church, and as a security guard for CIS.

George E. "Chip" Collins lived in Clearwater at the time of his death on September 20, 2010. He was 75.
