Joe Patrick
Joe Patrick (Kobessen) grew up in the Sarasota area and attended Manatee Community College for a couple years before heading off for LSU. By the mid 70’s, with his career well underway, he was music director and on the air at WGTO/Cypress Gardens. In 1977, he joined Tampa’s WQYK which, under his leadership as PD, enjoyed its first taste of success, going from #12 to #1 (12+) in just two books. Another shining achievement was when he flipped WNOE-FM/New Orleans from rock to country in the early 80’s.
In 1985, he joined Drake Chenault in Los Angeles as a consultant manager and worked with over 250 stations worldwide. Three years later, he formed his own firm, Patrick Broadcasting Consulting and, in 1999, co-founded Tunecom, a multi-media promotional and marketing company serving the radio and record communities.
Joe passed away in November 2021 at the age of 74.
