Mike Hennessy

Mike was a student Okaloosa-Walton Junior College at the time he landed his first radio gig at WFSH-AM in Niceville, Florida in 1975. After graduating from Florida State University in 1978, the Ft. Walton Beach native became evening host Mike London at Tampa’s WQYK, followed by stints with WFLA and Zephyrhills’ WPAS.

In 1983, news director Don Richards hired him as a street reporter for WPLP. Five years later, he was among others who left when the station became Susquehanna’s WTKN. After a couple years doing television work, he returned to WFLA as overnight news anchor. With a Master's Degree in Mass Communications and Journalism earned in 2003 from the University of South Florida, he accepted the news director’s position at ZFKY/Rooster 101 and ZFZZ/Z-99 on Grand Cayman Island.

By 2008, Mike was back in Tampa Bay, a partner in Mike/Matt Productions in Lutz. In early 2014, he moved to Boise, Idaho where he contributes weather information to Examiner.com, a media company based in Colorado.
