Dan Sileo
 |
Dan is originally from Stamford, CT. The former 1980’s college football All-American from the University of Miami went on to play briefly with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being drafted in the third round in 1988. In 1992 he played with the Orlando Thunder of the World League of American Football and, in 1995, the Arena Football League’s Las Vegas Sting.
His broadcasting career includes work on San Francisco’s KNBR and The Ticket 1050 and in 1998, his first run in mornings on Tampa Bay’s WDAE The Sports Animal. He’s also been a college football analyst for Westwood One on the weekends. In 2000, he moved to LA to host a nationally syndicated talk show for Fox Sports Radio, but didn’t like it there, and moved back to Florida, rejoining the WDAE morning lineup in 2004.
After being accused of making a racist remark on the air, Sileo was let go in March 2012 by Clear Channel and shortly afterwards landed on Miami’s WQAM, but he lasted only 11 months before being fired for sexist tweets aimed at Fox Sports personality Erin Andrews. From there, the former Buc moved to 640 Sports WMEN (licensed to Royal Palm Beach), but was fired again, this time for a Twitter bounty post on FSU defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan.
