The foundation of James’ (a.k.a. “Double Down”) radio career was built at Orlando’s Real Rock 101 WJRR (2002-2003) where he worked a swing and weekend air shift. He added some sales experience with local sports station 740 The Team WQTM, and then moved into programming as PD for Clear Channel’s WRAK in Albany, GA.
To further his expertise in the programming area of radio management, in the summer of 2005 he became an executive assistant to Marc Chase, senior VP of programming for Clear Channel’s southeast and mid-south regions. Then in 2006, he was named PD for the company’s 98 Rock WXTB in Tampa Bay. He’s also been PD for Englewood’s The Buzz WTZB.
Today (2010), James, or maybe we should say “Double Down,” hosts 98 Rock’s 7-midnight shift, all the while continuing to handle his duties as the rocker’s program director.
