Rick Morgan
Rick Morgan (J.R. Hutchison) began his radio career in Springfield, Illinois in 1961 and soon moved on to WKEE in Huntington, West Virginia to do mornings. He also developed many on-air aliases.
His Tampa Bay debut, in late 1963, was as Rick Shaw at WALT. When he joined WLCY, he became Swinging Sweeney and, in the late 70’s, Dan Reid during the time he worked at Plant City’s WPLA. He also worked at WFLA, WDAE, W-Lite 95.7 WNLT, WSUN, WWBA, and Life 680 WWLF.
Rick passed away from cancer at Bayfront Medical Center's Hospice Unit in St. Petersburg on Christmas Day 2012 at the age of 72.
