Ron Seggi

Ron was fourteen when he began his radio career. However, his “love” for radio began when his father took him to visit a station when he was seven. With that as his inspiration, he built his own studio (which could be heard for several blocks) in the basement of his home when he was eleven. Three years later, he got his first deejay’s job at a commercial station and was eventually named its music director.

In 1970, he launched a singing career, put together a nightclub act, and performed warm-up for several nationally-known entertainers. The Erie, PA native opened his own advertising agency in 1978, and bought his first radio station, one in his hometown, two years later at the age of twenty-nine.

After six years as an owner/operator, Ron sold the station, formed Seggi Broadcasting Corp. of Florida, and acquired WIPC in Lake Wales. He returned to on-air work in late 1990 and began “The Ron Seggi Show” (referred to as the “Tonight Show” of radio), which was broadcast live via satellite from Universal Studios in Orlando. In 2000, he was tapped as the announcer for Ed McMahon’s “The Next Big Star” syndicated TV talent show.

The Gannon University graduate holds a BA in business administration with a major in marketing and a minor in economics, and spends much of his time aiding causes like the American Heart Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, United Way, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, and Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs.

Ron sold WIPC to Rama Communications in 1996 and today (2010) continues to host his radio show each weekend over the USA Radio Network, Armed Forces Radio, and Cable Radio Network.
