Johnny Dollar
Johnny Dollar (Jim Noel) pulled WFLA’s mid-afternoon air shift in 1964 and 1965 during the station’s short-lived ‘chicken rock’ period. From Tampa, he went on to become Kansas City radio’s Johnny Dolan – first doing nights on WHB, the Todd Storz station, and later KMBZ in 1976. He left KC for what turned out to be a brief stint at Des Moines’ KSO in 1983 and then returned the following year to work with KCMO.
In 1986 he moved to KGNR in Sacramento and later retired to a home he built northwest of there on Clear Lake.
