Florida Calling
Florida Calling was an audience participation program that aired weekday mornings at 11:00 over the Mutual Broadcasting System, sponsored by the Florida Citrus Board. In the Tampa Bay area it aired on MBS affiliates WSIR in Winter Haven, WONN in Lakeland, and WTSP in St. Petersburg.
The show had a relatively short run – from September 1954 to December 1955. It was hosted by Tom Moore (who was also part owner of WSIR) and originated from the Florida Citrus Building in Winter Haven, although there were some shows broadcast on location such as the Florida State Fair in Tampa.
