Terrance McKeever

Terrance McKeever joined Tampa Bay’s WLCY to do morning news in 1975. After leaving the area for a few years, he returned in 1983 and became a fixture on Q105’s “Q Morning Zoo.”

During his lengthy career, McKeever worked in Memphis as a newsman/sidekick for funnyman Rick Dees at WHBQ and put in a stint across town at FM-100 WMC. It was while there in the mid/late 80s that he made a short foray into television, joining fellow Memphis deejay Ron Olsen and comedian John Hemphill to co-host WMC-TV’s Saturday night midnight movie, “Western Movie Classics.” The show featured old western films with comedy skits dropped in during the commercial breaks. But it didn’t catch on and was soon cancelled.

Other radio stops included WSGN in Birmingham, Jacksonville’s WAPE (where he did morning news for The Greaseman), LA’s KHJ (morning news), Atlanta’s Star 94 and KOUL/Corpus Christi, Texas co-hosting the morning show with Doc Weldon.

McKeever passed away April 12, 2013 in Fredericksburg, VA after a lengthy illness.
