Al Gale

A.B. “Al” Gale began his radio career in Wisconsin in 1935 doing sales at WISN in Milwaukee. Later, he managed WOMT in Manitowoc and then became owner of WTTN in Watertown.

After moving to Florida, he joined the sales staff of Tampa’s WDAE and then became general manager of the city’s bi-lingual station, WSOL-AM 1300, in 1960. Gale also started up WAVP in Avon Park and taught courses in radio communications at the University of Tampa.
