WYFO-FM 91.9 Lakeland – Non-commercial educational FM WYFO (Where You Find Opportunity) signed on the air November 7, 1989 on 91.9 MHz. It and sister stations WYFZ-FM/Belleview, WYFB-FM/Gainesville, WDBW-LP/Port St. Joe, and WYFE-FM/Tarpon Springs, are licensed to the Bible Broadcasting Network which operates AM and FM stations in 14 countries of North and South America.

The directional 25,000 watt WYFO broadcasts on translators in Bradenton, Sarasota and Sebring and airs satellite-fed religious programming from the company’s headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Its schedule includes many nationally-known programs including Dr. James Dobson’s “Focus on the Family,” Chuck Swindoll’s “Insight for Living,”  “The Legal Alert” with attorney David Gibbs, and broadcasters Dr. J. Vernon McGee, Dr. Donald R. Hubbard, Dr. Stephen Davey, and Dr. Erwin Lutzer. The station’s music is conservative and comes from a library of over 10,000 songs, mixed and cycled in a systematic blend.

WYFO’s transmitter and tower are located off Crews Lake Road and DeWitt Drive in South Lakeland. While early offices and studios were at one time located in a strip center at the corner of Lakeland Highlands Road and CR 540, the station has no actual local office or studios today (2008). All business transactions are handled through the BBN headquarters in Charlotte.
