Charles Bruce
Bruce was a veteran, having served in the Florida National Guard and the United States Air Force, and earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida and Florida Southern College. During his time at UF, he worked as a radio announcer at WRUF. His love of radio led him to other stations including WONN/Lakeland (nights in 1959-60) and WIPC/Lake Wales, as well as WINN/Atlanta.
The Camden, SC native received his Master's of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology in 1963 and his Doctorate of Ministry from Drew University in 1985. Following graduation from Emory, he served the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church for 35 years at churches in Miami, Riverview, Ormond Beach, Orlando, Northport, St. Augustine, Brandon, and St. Cloud before retiring in 1996.
Bruce passed away in 2014 at the age of 83.
