Angie was WLKF’s news director in 1996 and 1997. She pursued a degree at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism in 1989 and went on to complete her Masters of Fine Arts in acting at New York’s famous Actor’s Studio Drama School. Before coming to WLKF, she had been a television news anchor/reporter/talk show host working with NBC and PBS.
While at WLKF, she was also the morning news anchor and host of “Hot Talk with Angie Harrell.” After the station was acquired by Hall Communications in 1996, she was promoted to news and public affairs director for all four stations in the company’s Lakeland cluster (WONN, WPCV, WLKF, and WWRZ).
Today (2010) Angie works as an actress and lives in Atlanta where she also teaches youth and children’s theater.
