Susan Nilon
Susan has been a Sarasota resident since 1972. She and a group of local business partners formed Florida Talk Radio, LLC in early 2012 and took over ownership and management of Sarasota’s WSRQ. In addition to serving as president of the company and station general manager, the Temple University graduate hosts the program “The Nilon Report” weekday afternoons.
Previously, Nilon had been a political and environmental journalist, writing articles for Creative Loafing and other newspapers and magazines around the state, and a talk show host for two other area stations, Sarasota’s WTMY (before it switched from a talk to a sports format) and Bradenton’s WWPR. She also owned a home remodeling and restoration company and, for three years, was an English, speech, and performing arts teacher at Cardinal Mooney High School.
