WNZE - A History
WNZE-AM 820 Largo – WNZE was Paxson Communication’s Tampa Bay sports station, “Sports Radio 820-AM,” and then “820 The Team.” Previously known as Largo talker WYTA (Your Talk Authority), its call sign changed to WNZE in 1994. Studios and tower site for the 50,000-watt AM (1,000 watts at night) were at 800 8th Avenue SE in Largo.
WNZE became WZTM in 1996 and was acquired by Clear Channel in 1997.
