Tom Moore

San Antonio, Texas native Tom Moore was an announcer and host for several network radio shows in the 1940’s and 50’s. In 1954-55, he emceed the audience participation show “Florida Calling” which was broadcast live each weekday morning over the Mutual network from the Florida Citrus Building in Winter Haven.

In a partnership established in 1955 with station founder Larry Rollins, bookkeeper Nellie Barber, and chief engineer Orden Craig, he became president of Hundred Lakes Broadcasting, owner of Winter Haven’s WSIR. However, his association lasted only a few years, and he eventually sold his interest to the other stockholders.

Tom died in 1986 at the age of 73.
