Dr. Chuck Crane

Dr. Chuck Crane was from Muncie, Indiana. After graduating from Ball State University in 1976 and the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1981, he entered a career in radio, and made his mark in the business with some of the country’s biggest stations, like New York’s Z100 and WYNY, and Houston’s 96.5 KKNT.

In the late 80’s, he moved to Tampa Bay, where he jocked for Q105 and programmed Lite Rock 95.7 WNLT (1989-90). During the years that followed, he practiced dentistry while working part time for Tampa’s W101 and Sarasota’s WSRZ-FM. Even after opening a cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry practice in Sarasota in 2003, he continued to keep his foot in radio.

Dr. Chuck passed away at his home in Sarasota on Sept. 27, 2012 at the age of 58. Most recently, he had been doing the morning shift at Sarasota’s 92.1 WLTQ.
