WSEB - A History

WSEB-FM 91.3 EnglewoodSuncoast Educational Broadcasting Corp. (Wallis C. Metts, president) launched Englewood’s 62 kilowatt 24-hour non-commercial WSEB-FM in 1989. Initially, the station’s religious news/talk format was aired from the transmitter/tower site at 2800 Placida Road (CR-775), near Rotonda West in Charlotte County, before moving to 517 Paul Morris Drive in Englewood around 1994.

Today (2012), Distinctly Christian WSEB-FM’s operation is headquartered at 135 West Dearborn Street in Englewood. Programming includes shows from Dr. Charles Stanley (“In Touch”), Charles Swindoll (“Insight for Living”), Adrian Rogers (“Love Worth Finding”), and J. Vernon McGee (“Through the Bible”).

Other names in WSEB history include Richard W. Krieger (GM-1989), Garry Clark (music director-1989), Paul Wolf (chief engineer-1989), John P. Higgins (GM-1992), Joy Clark (GM-2002), Roger Johnson (PD-2002), and Russell Wilkey (PD/music director-2003).
