Gerald W. McGougan
Gerald W. “Jerry” McGougan was born in Caruthersville, Missouri and moved to Bradenton as a small child. His passion for aviation led him to serve in the Army Air Force during WWII and later earn his private pilot's license.
He is best remembered in Tampa Bay radio circles for his thirty-plus years as chief engineer for Sarasota’s WSPB (1957-1988) and his work in a like capacity for Bradenton’s WTRL (1960’s and 70’s).
Jerry also ran Bayshore Electronics in Sarasota until retirement and was 84 when he passed away March 17, 2011.
