Leslee was born in Tampa and raised in Brandon (and later, Hendersonville, TN), the youngest (and only girl) of five siblings. It’s no wonder sports always played an important part in her life. In high school, the diehard Buccaneer fan was the goalie on the school’s girls soccer team (and also periodically played on the boys team), and went on to play defensive end with the Tampa Bay Terminators of the Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL) in 2003.
After high school, she moved to Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast journalism and visual anthropology. Her broadcasting career began as a news and sports reporter covering the Lakers and Angels, and anchoring sports updates for KSPN, the ESPN Radio affiliate there. In 1997 she joined the Army Reserves and served eight years as a radio/TV military journalist.
While in LA, Leslee landed roles in several motion pictures (“Edward Scissorhands” with Johnny Depp and “Even Angels Fall” with Englebert Humperdinck and Morgan Fairchild) and television series (“In the Heat of the Night” and “Superboy”), as well as several major commercials (Clearasil, Toyota, Baskin-Robbins, and Pepsi Cola). She also had key roles in music videos for the bands Alabama and Poison. And somehow, she found time to study Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and participate in a two-week modeling tour to China.
Since returning to Tampa Bay in 2003, she has done news and sports for WQYK-AM (with “Cowhead and the Replacements” and later with Mike Pepper), WHBO-AM 1470, Q105 WRBQ (2004-2008), AM-1040 WWBA, and WGUL-AM 860. She also did mid-day traffic under Metro Networks for WQYK and WSJT, and was one of the Chix on WQYK-AM’s “Sportschix and Friends” radio show until the show was cancelled in the summer of 2009. In late 2010, she signed on as the new morning traffic reporter for WFLA-TV.
