Ed Edwards has been a fixture in sports broadcasting for over 30 years, ten of them in the New York area. The rest have been spent in the Sarasota-Bradenton market, beginning in 1987 when he was named general manager of Sarasota’s WWZZ-AM.
Over the next almost twenty years he’s worked with WSPB-AM, WCTQ-FM, and WAMR-AM (Venice) and served as GM for Bradenton’s WKLV-AM and Sarasota AM’s WSGX, WQSA, and WTMY. He’s also been an announcer for the Chicago White Sox (1990-1997), the Cincinnati Reds (1998-2004), and the New Jersey Nets. In 2006 he joined Bradenton’s WWPR AM-1490 as corporate director of operations for station owner, Vidify Media.
Today (2017), and since 2008, he has been general manager (and does news and sports) for AM-1590 WRXB in St. Pete Beach.
